Default Poor custom service at PartsGeek.com

i have ordered others things and everything seemed to be ok until I run into a problem.

I ordered a complete front and rear set of centric caliper seals and dust boots. Centric mispacked one of the rear seal sets and I got one extra 30mm but one less 28mm. No t partsgeek fault.

i call their csr line and the agents tells me to email Gabe with pictures. I do so at 8am and explained I would like a replacement set shipped but I already installed the seals but the dust boots are untouched. I hang up and wait until noon as there is email acknowledgement of pictures. I get an agent and tells me he is on lunch. I call back in 30 min as advised and Gabe is busy. I leave my number for a call back. I get an email from Gabe requesting pictures. I resend my original email. Still no call back so I ring at the end of day. agent tells me Gabe is already gone and call tomorrow.

I call the next day and and agent tells me Gabe is off and he only handles these claims. I leave my number again and ask agent to ensure Gabe calls me first thing today. Still no call back but I get an RMA form.

fed up at this point as I need the dust boots, I order from pelican, who has always been great and be done with parts geek forever.

Shame as we all know the cost of customer acquisition is high and something simple like a phone call easily can retain a customer.

Parts Geek is not a Porsche Specialist. A bad rep on Rennlist does not concern them. Stick with the Specialists? Like Sunset. RND Euro Parts were great R.I.P.
Jason Harris at Warehouse 33 - he gets some parts drop-shipped from SSF ?He is a Forum Member so would be more .......

RND Euro Parts were great R.I.P.
But their model was never going to work today... The mindset of "who's cheapest" is what people have. They could care less about quality service, real technical assistance from people that work with these cars everyday, or the "knowledgebase" that every RND customer had access to.

When buying from these types of "Partsgeek" companies the seller is never seeing the part. Its being drop shipped from a 3rd party. I have seen how the whole system works being a vendor providing components to these distribution companies.

That said, the cheapest parts come from the "e-tailers" that are usually dealing with the crappier distribution houses, that also sell things the cheapest.

I wouldn't buy a thing from PartsGeek...it's obvious they're geeks because they know NOTHING about customer service. I had the worst experience with them attempting to return a part (exhaust component) that was either bent wrong from the factory or bent in transit during shipping...there was no way for me to know as it was basically shipped loose with some cardboard covering the openings.

They refused to take the return, so I contacted my credit card company and had them reverse the charges...that woke them up. Their only choice then was to send an RGA, I shipped it back and that was that...never again.
