Lightbulb what's it worth?

Well the time has come to let the cabriolet become a weekend/fairer weather car. My better half just loves the cab with the top down and really dislikes coupes. That having been said, a coupe has it's pluses for a daily driver and autocross toy.

I've met a gentleman who has a '99 that's he's owned since it was 3 months old. He has a 4 car collection and is rarely driving the 996. It's been given a clean bill of health by my indy and has a new clutch, rms, LN Solution by certified installer and runs really well. No bore scoring (by borescope from top and bottom), runs strong, no leaks. We just need to arrive at a fair price and I'd appreciate some help with this.

The options sticker is pretty full and the car is in good shape overall with the to-be-expected wear and tear for an 18 year old.

63,000km (+/- 40k miles)

VIN WPOAA2999XS624232
Paint Code L40X Vesuvio Metallic
Interior Code BU (?) Grey tones

C36 Canadian model
030 Sports suspension - 10mm lower
XSR Carbon back for bucket seat
X54 Stainless steel tailpipes
X70 Stainless steel door entry guards
X71 Alu look instrument faces
139 Seat heating left
220 Limited slip differential
222 Traction control ASR
224 Traction control ABD (auto braking differential)
236 Tire code
288 Headlamp washers
340 Seat heating right
375 2 way electric sport seat left
376 2 way electric sport seat right
413 18" turbo look wheels (not hollow spoke)
424 CD compartment
425 Rear window wiper
436 3 spoke steering wheel (car equipped with 4 spoke currently ???)
448 Sport brake pads
490 Basic sound system
601 Litronic (Xenon) headlamps
659 Onboard computer
696 CD radio Becker Porsche CDR-220
983 Leather front seats
00051 Sonderfarbe - special order colour
09981 Option from Sonderwunsch program
09991 Option from Sonderwunsch program
21441 (unknown)

Sonderwunsch program (literally "special wishes") can include special paint colors, leather dyed to sample, etc so I suppose it's an unknown without the Porsche COA.

What does the collective think it's worth in US or Canadian $? I want to make a fair offer as it'ds a pretty cool car.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

20-25k USD imo, that's a nice car. The market may not appreciate all the odds & ends but it really hits what I want personally (Solution, M030, LSD, litronics, etc.).

Nice car Jeff, I've never seen this on the weekend runs. That kind of well cared for car likely deserves a premium. Hope to see you with it.

+1
Depending on how good the tires are, age/tread I would go to $27 USD.

Well, I'll be a little bit of a downer on price. I'd say US $16,000 would be stealing it. Probably wouldn't go more than US $20,000. But, if you really like it, then paying a premium above $20k would not be a horrible idea.

Too bad it doesn't have a leather interior.....or is an interior.

Nice car......I would say $20K would be fair. If you want to pay more, as much as $24K, you'd be happy!

US price.

I'll go on the high end and say it's a $24k car if it hits the buttons for you.

Effectively a one owner car. Obviously well cared for. Solution from a certified installer. Looks to be in mint condition. Nice list of options.

I'd pass as I hate the interior color with a passion (second only to the beige!) and I'm super spoiled by having an extra heard of cattle in ours, but it's a very compelling car.

I think it's easier to sell in person than online which makes it entirely dependent on your local market's interest in 996s. It is simply a stunning color that pictures rarely do justice to.

We identified on the Vegas trip that we need to know more about factors that can dramatically sway the value of a 996, such as whether the fuel tank is full or empty, before pricing can be determined.

I agree. In person it is spectacular. In photos it's an odd purple-ish tone. A trick of the camera for sure.

Can't disagree here either. To me it's the worst option. Bland and plastic grey.

Don't know how full the tank is but I'll be sure to negotiate that into the purchase.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've been thinking $28k Cdn (+/- 21k US) so I think we're on track. Time will now tell.

I personally like it. Not many of them out there for sale. Sure beats silver!
