Default Passenger litronic headlight out, not bulb

My 01 996 has the passenger headlight out. I thought it might be the bulb, so I bought another bulb. Put in the new bulb and it's still out. Switched he old bulb with the driver side and it works.

I checked the high beam fuses #A1 & A2, they are fine, for good measure, switch them around. I checked the low beam fuses, A9 and A 10. They are good, switch them around as well. No luck, passenger headlight is still out.

All the other lights inside the headlight works.

What can I do to trouble shoot this issue?

It could be as simple as a dirty/corroded connector. Once you've cleaned everything up and made sure you've got good connections, you can move on to the Ballast/Transformer or igniter... Good Luck

Look for "electrical contact cleaner" in a spray can of some variety. You can find them on Amazon, or if you have a Fry's Electronics local they usually have them there as well.

What should I spray? Only the connector to the headlight?

Yeah, spray the pins on the headlight side. It might help to install and remove the headlight a few times.

Anyone know how I can check the voltage to make sure electricity is reaching the wire? Which pins would I check against each other for the headlight?

a simple DMM set to DC 12 volts. Google "996 wire harness diagram" to determine which wires go where.

Well, what do you know, I drove home this evening and when I got home, I noticed I had two beams of light shining... I took a look and the passenger light is now working. I hope it's not an intermittent problem. That would suck.

I've had problems with my passenger side as well. I changed my switch, which seemed to help initially, but it has also worked (or not) intermittently since then as well. I'm pretty sure it's a connection problem in one of the plugs but haven't figured it out yet.

If you have litronic headlight, it is attached to the back of the headlight. If it is not HID, then it is just a bulb.
