Nice. Looks like an early 1999 with a 1998 build date. That's a good thing. At your purchase price, you can spend several thousand on maintenance and still feel very good about the overall cost.

Beautiful car. Actually you do have a service history...for the last three years...everything the PO did and didn't do. If the PO didn't change the brake fluid, it is time for you to. Original IMS bearing or has it been replaced? If it makes you uncomfortable, now is the time to do it. Motor mounts? Coolant tank and cap, serpentine belt, bushings, etc.? Just have your wrench put the car up on a rack and start servicing/fixing anything and everything that looks worn.

Thank you for the compliments on the car. I got some decent seat time in her the other night as I took her down to Wareham for my sons baseball game. Both highway and country roads going about 120 miles round trip. Very enjoyable ride.

I agree plenty of room to do some proactive maintenance on the car and not feel underwater at all.

At some point I'm going to decode the VIN but why do you think it's an early model and what would be "good" about that?

Regarding the IMS at this time I'm going to leave it. At least until I feel good about the overall condition and replace anything else that may need more immediate attention.
