Litronic Issues
Looking for a little help please. I have a 1999 and the PO put litronics in the car.
When I turn my high beams on, my low beams go off. Has anyone experienced this? Would it be the light switch causing this or something else?
Thanks,
Trent

I'm not sure....but I have litronics in my 99. I believe they are bi-xenon with a high beam bulb in them also. So when I put on my high beams, the low beam stays energized, but the shade on the bulb is driven up by the control module, so it has a higher beam, plus the high beam comes on.
Maybe with non litronics, the low beam is de energized when the high beam is energized, and because that's what your car came with it is still working that way?

Mine do this too, and I am pretty sure they are factory (2002 C4S). Mine is a Canadian car with the DRL module, that I am pretty sure isn't working anymore. I was attributing the problems to this (although without giving it any real technical thought to be honest).

Considering the replacement cost, are they really worth it vs the standard lights? Interesting article in the WSJ about how all the new high tech expensive options dramatically increase the repair costs (in some cases 300%) and so insurance rates are starting to rise as much as 20% as a result.
