LOL, I've called every day. The case manager has even contacted me yet. It's a joke. I have no expectations what-so-ever as of now.

Err that sucks, don't give up just keep going until you get it back or they pay you out. Preferably both both!

ECU Doctors can also eliminate the drive block in the ECU, I had them do that in my race car, you only have to send them the ECU not the Immobilizer module.

I mean I just got off the phone with them and they very specifically told me they needed the immobilizer, new dme and key pill. So, I don't know?

I would totally love to be able to eliminate the immobilizer, and yeah, I don't see why you couldn't just program it out or physically bypass it. Would be great to not have to deal with it anymore.

If they eliminate the drive block from the DME they only need the DME.

Then can you physically remove the block from the car, or does it still stay to complete a circuit, and just get ignored otherwise by the dme?

Correct, they change out the immobilizer chip in the DME. It will Not effect any other functions of the security system

Just to clarify;

Only in the 996 Porsche model from 1999 is that we can bypass the Immobilizer "Drive-Block" system from within the DME/ECU itself.

These are the ones that use Bosch Motronic control units with part number 0 261 204 605 (or Porsche part number 996.618.601.04).

They look like this:

From the year 2000-2005 the 996 model uses (2) different part number ECUs that are a different Motronic version from which we cannot delete the immobilizer system yet.

Those units look like this:

And from the notes and previous posts, I think your model is year 2000 or higher.

That's why we cannot bypass the immo in your car, but we can fully program both the ECU and Immobilizer to carry your car's VIN and specific programming parameters.

I did!!!

So, after buying a second ECU on ebay, and sending it to florida for the ECU doctors, Sam Stone from EVO Motorsports in Phoenix called me, 11 days after my ECU was delivered, saying they found it.

Turns out it was delivered to an unattended mailbox at the complex EVO is operating out of. Mr. Stone himself tracked down the actual delivery guy asking him where the ECU was and was met with an "uhhh....". Sam had the guy go and open all the mailboxes at the business park and sure enough, there mine was, delivered to the wrong box.

I got everything back, and installed in the car, and I couldn't be more happy! Huge thanks to Sam at EVO for providing great service and an excellent tune.

82mm 997 GT3 Throttle body installed, IDP plenum installed, BMC drop in filter installed, Fabspeed cat-back installed.

Interesting to note: I got the ecu back with the tune before the plenum came in, so I had to install the tuned ECU without any of the other mods it was tuned for, namely the throttle body. Sam assured me it would just run a little rich, but would be good to go. Even without the tbody and plenum, the tune alone was worth it. MUCH better throttle response and a smoother power/force delivery. I would estimate from butt dyno 10 hp and +10 ft lbs for sure.

But then when I got everything together OH MAN! The tune really tied all the parts together, the car sounds GREAT now. Before there was absolutely no induction noise, my biggest complaint over my boxster. Now it sounds like thor himself activating the throttle, there even more power and torque. I would estimate no BS, +25-30 hp and +20 ft lbs, but I will confirm on a dyno in about a month, where I reeeeeeally hope I'll hit 285-290+ whp

Later, I took it out on the highway (totally in mexico) with my boys in a 2007 B7 S4 6mt and a 2008 C6 S6 5.2 V10 tip with 340 hp and 435 hp respectively, and I absolutely crushed them (ok maybe thats an exaggeration, but I was walking away from them nicely) in a 2nd - 4th gear pull from approximately 35 - 100 mph. (Interestingly, it was dead even through 2nd gear, and only started pulling ahead once in 3rd and into 4th).

I have PSS10s coming in 7 days (thanks TH motorsports!!!). At that point the car will be converted to RWD, I'll do new plugs, and an underdrive pulley. Install a PC950 in the frunk for added lightness, then I will have the car corner balanced and aligned and dyno'ed in new jersey. There's a thread on here showing the gain from AWD to RWD is 12whp and 10ft/lbs and minus 70lbs sprung weight.

Really hoping for 290 whp, and 3200lbs empty (sans drive and fuel).
