Question Hose cracked/torn... should I be concerned?

Hi team,

I noticed this morning that this hose is cracked and beginning to split pretty good. Nothing coming out so I am assuming its some type of vacuum hose maybe? I am assuming I should get this hose fixed sooner rather than later?

To me that looks like a split in the insulation around the hose, not in the hose itself.

Year and make please. Since it doesn't have a clamp on it I figure not coolant, but I can't quite place it. Your coolant cap is outdated...should end in 04. It looks like it has been leaking, and your coolant level is at the minimum. 50/50 mix of Porsche coolant and distilled water. Suggestion - pull the "horn" off the air box, it slips right out to the left, and follow the pipe down where it goes. Could be insulation on the fuel rail pipe leading to the fuel rail.

Be very careful with it. That's your FUEL hose (55psi pressure). If the hose is compromised in any way, you will probably need to replace the whole system that is comprised of both fuel rails (bank 1 and bank 2) and a "Y" junction all connected by non-reusable and non-serviceable hoses.

You can see the rest of that hose and how it connects to the fuel rails. The whole thing is ~$450 from Sunset Porsche.

Ahsai, thanks for the pic and this helps alot. Took another look at it and it looks like its the insulation that is cracked, not the actual line itself. Still going to take it in and get it looked at. Not worth driving with compromised fuel lines!
