Why can't I have this...

I suspect scoring as it seems worse this year than last. Some occasional blue smoke on start(drivers side) with minimal "spitting" drivers side on start after long time in garage. Oil usage is below the owners manual allowable limit. On start this year if it was a "normal" engine I would guess the beginning of a rod knock, but read and heard recordings so many times here that ended being scoring on the 4-6 side.
I have had it since 2014 and never tracked, pylon raced or street beat the car. It spent first eight years in warm climate(South Texas) and I haven't driven in winter so maybe not but I am suspicious of scoring given the above symptoms. 2005 C4S with 58k miles.

USB camera complete with led lights, $15. Oil pan gasket $25. Nine Qts. of oil and filter $70. Knowing for sure whether you have bore scoring - Priceless.

As noted, for $6750 you only get to put the tip in. If you want full penetration, and the happy ending, that'll run $20-30k. I didn't see that price anywhere, but if you can get the long block for that price, I guess that's what you mean.
I hope this is serious enough. If not, let me know.

Here's a 525 HP LS3 engine for just a little more. If I was doing an LS swap I'd step up with the extra bucks for it.

There are many places you can get LS motors for pretty reasonable prices. Just do a search. Or go to your local Chevy dealer parts department.
People are LS swapping everything these days, from Porsches to Miatas to Jeeps to even golf carts!

Nope had a Corvette once...once was enough. Friend of mine has one now and says it is a piece. Says the only reason he has it is because it is the only car that ever scared him. That is of course is if he can get it to start because it keeps draining the battery sitting in the garage.

Stock motor has 350 hp? Maybe?
Throw in a cheap v8, skip trying to make all the electronics and gizmos work, and you have a really cool track car...
If it runs, doesn't overheat, turns, brakes, and stops... Go for it.

I never understood why anyone would want to swap out a Porsche motor for a v8. Porsches sound so damn beautiful. You could buy a near new C6 corvette for the cost of the conversion and you can beat on it all day long.

I could buy a same year C5 Corvette as my Porsche (1999) with comparable miles (66K) for $15K to $18K which is about what my car is worth (I've had it for sale off and on for a while and am not getting any offers so decided to keep it). My car has Brembo brakes, shifter, exhaust and some other nice mods. If I had an offer to trade even for a comparable C5 I'm not sure I would.
A nearly new C6 is going to run you $25K to $30K and up. If you had to pay Renegade to do the LS swap then I guess you'd have that kind of money in your Porsche but you'd have a Porsche that is fast and dead reliable. If you do your own work and was in it for under $20K you'd have a car that would perform like a TT car or better for less $ and have something different. I didn't buy my car as an "investment" so I don't care if I have more money in it that it is worth which is probably already the case. I think the same could be said for my boat, hot rods, Harley's, and other toys but I don't care because they bring me pleasure.
I have an exhaust system on my car and yes, it does sound fantastic. Don't know if I prefer it over the growl of a big V8 though.
And speaking of sounds, how does the sound of a failed IMS bearing sound? Or an OAS failure, waterpump failure, bore scouring, head cracking, or the other 127 ways these engines can blow up (OK, well maybe only 27 but that's still a lot).
The thing is, if your engine blows up you can sell the roller for a few grand and buy a Vette or you can build a hot rod Porsche and have fun. My car is a play toy anyway and I'm not particularly a Porsche purist fan boy so I don't care about the sacrilege of putting a Chevy engine in a Porsche.
All that said, I'm still just going to drive the wheels of my car as it is. It is fine and meets my needs for my usage. If the engine blows then I'll decide what the best course of action is.
