long time listener, first time caller

Model: 996 C4S
Model Year: 2003
Color: Seal Gray
Interior Color: Black
Mileage: 84,000
Transmission: 6MT
Notable Options: PCCB, Bose, Alcantara headliner, Nav
Notable Upgrades: Dension (everything else is stock)

Service History/Manuals (Complete, Partial, None): Mostly complete going back to original owner
Condition of vehicle: Exterior, nice with a resprayed front bumper. Interior, good.
PPI: Yes
Recommended maintenance: IMS was recommended as it is original. Clutch pedal was listed as stiff (clutch last replaced at 57k), all wheels have some curb rash. ( getting IMS Solution and new clutch while we are in there tomorrow at Flintworks in Campbell, CA)

Asking Price: $29,990
Purchase Price: $27,000
Purchase Date: 7/7/17
Where Purchased: San Jose, CA
Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

General Notes: Car is in great condition. It drives wonderfully. The full leather interior wasn't detailed often so it sucked up a ton of leather conditioner. I worked on it for 2 hours on 2 separate days. Now it looks fantastic, as if it just came off the showroom floor. The sport exhaust sounds amazing, especially when the windows are all open. My first 911 (had a 2004 Cayenne Turbo before, but there are no similarities).

And just for fun, our old Cayenne Turbo we had to sell. Still miss it.

Model: 996.1 C2 Cab
Model Year: 2001
Color: Seal Grey
Interior Color: light grey
Milage: 76,000
Transmission: Manual
Notable Options:
Notable Upgrades: Aftermarket (pioneer) Double DIN stereo

Service History/Manuals (Complete, Partial, None): Manuals included, service history lacking, clena CARFAX
Condition of vehicle: LOTS of deferred mechanical maintenance, but overall good interior and exterior condition
PPI: Porsche of Arlington, VA ($540) - EXTENSIVE!
Recommended maintenance: Front/Rear pads and rotors, various belts, hoses & plugs, leaking windshield washer fluid reservoir, AOS leaking, moisture inside car (convertible drain lines clogged), engine service required, brake fluid and coolant flush needed, replace a front tie rod and strut mounts.
IMS Bearing Status: Not done

Asking Price: $14,500
Purchase Price: $13,250
Purchase Date: 6/8/17
Where Purchased: Arlington, VA
Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

General Notes: I think I just got a GREAT deal on a car in pretty good shape that basically has a lot of deferred maintenance from the last couple of years. I've been working my way through the basic "wrenching" (new brakes, belt, filters/fluids, etc.) and will have my local German mechanic do the engine work (oil change, brake fluid/coolant flush(s), spark plugs and tubes, etc.) soon enough. I've pulled all four worn out OEM 4" speakers and replaced with Alpine SPS-410s, too!

Carl, you got a great deal (I paid 17k for my 2001 996 couoe with same miles) but be prepared to spend 5 to 7k on IMS, chain tensioner and other age related fix its....

Has that car had a front end collision? the hood is closed but the hood to bumper gap seems very large

yes. It looks like it may be on the curb in the photo. Also if you look right under the head light you can see damage where the front end crumpled.

Transmission: 6 Speed
Notable Options:Rear Wiper, Navi
Notable Upgrades:

Service History/Manuals (Complete, Partial, None): None with car but Carfax listed some dealer service history, which I was able to confirm was accurate per the Carfax. Also some Indy work. Got the PPI done at the Indy and discovered they had additional oil service records. Putting together a nice hard-copy file.
Condition of vehicle: Pristine

Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

General Notes: Over 1000 miles logged in the first week (but no pics except for a late night test drive with Fracture posted in the 40th Registry thread). Smells new and feels new to me. Pulls like a dream in 4th. A few things to address but that's to be expected. New Bridgestone Potenzas, and the car came hardwired for my radar detector. Not a single range 2 overrev. Motor mounts and clear side markers are in the mail.

Sub 1k range 1s is pretty low even for the mileage. Congrats

Subscribed as I'm in the market for one soon.

BTW, Sorry if this is over stepping but would I be stupid to pay $35K US for a 2003 Silver / Black C4S with only 23K miles (records, never seen rain, excellent condition, Bose, no heated seat though) ??? He's down from $42K.

Very low miles and great shape but I'd need to do the IMS. Just not sure about the price.

If that's your price range you should seriously look at Slakkers car he just listed with FSI 3.8 built motor!
