I purchased a second hand drivers side window yesterday, once that arrives the rock will come out and I will be inside the car! Fun fun fun!
Joined road side assist and had them attend to "break into" the car. They managed to hook the interior drivers side door handle but the door would not open

Did he pull the door handle twice - have to do that to unlock from inside.

We both tried multiple times. He ended up having two hooks onto it we used one to initiate the movement then the second one to fully extend the door handle. We gave it multiple operations in succession and no luck.

Since you changed the remote batteries, does the car respond to "lock/unlock/panic" commands?

Also, film the window breaking. +1 if you punch the window out with sap glove!

the hook wasn't long enough to reach the passenger door from the drivers door, the window did not have enough "freeplay" to put the air pillow wedge in there so we weren't confident enough t give it a try as we thought we might break something (yes I can see the irony now)

I was contemplating getting a windscreen replacement guy to come out and remove the windscreen (and then re-fit it) so I could get in without breaking anything, but it was all getting to hard as it might have then required the replacement of the moulds and I managed to get a window relatively cheaply and quickly

You may want to put packing tape all over the window before breaking. It'll make cleanup MUCH easier!

Yep - the stickier, the better. Gorilla Tape, the black stuff, extra adhesive.

Also, make sure you have a decent shop vac with all attachments handy when it comes time to get the glass out of the window. Otherwise...well, let's not even think about that. *shudder*

You are being beyond inefficient with tape ****. Go to Walmart, buy the tint roll for $10-$15. Apply tint to the outside in one sweep. Smash glass.

To pay for glass, host the contest: Smash my Porsche window with Crowbar/Bat/Fist for $100.

yeah this is what I am going to do, I have a roll of adhesive film here at home which I will use to try and contain the fragments

I have had a lot of interest in people wanting me to video it, maybe I can make some $'s back by selling through pay per view?

Predictably, my countrymen are the most experienced in trying to break the glass on German cars. Porsches and BMWs put up serious fights.

Why do they insist on using the wrong end of the hammer!

The last time someone posted this problem, it ended up being a broken lock mechanism in the door and the remote unlock system in "sleep mode.". Did you turn the key both ways in the door lock? If so it is likely to need a dealer or a locksmith!

I have tried the key multiple times pushing the unlock button in all positions I have also rang a locksmith he said smash the window, so I rang another locksmith who said.... smash the window

I have tried everything suggested!
