Default Fabspeed sport headers

I had great success adding hp to my 81 SC by messing with the exhaust. On the 996 I would limit it to the sport headers from Fabspeed. Anybody have experience with these? Claimed 10 horse is pretty good for an easy DYI. (Fingers crossed on the condition of the bolts)

The seller of the car I'm going to look at makes this claim...Let us know how it feels from stock.

From what I can tell, the Catless x-pipe is exhaust upgrade that effects performance. I think the mufflers and header have a larger impact on the exhaust note than performance.

You might also look at an underdrive pulley. Make sure it's solid and not one of the spoked ones.

From there, take it to a track. These cars are built to turn and they do it really really well.

The Sport Headers you are referring to are one of the best selling products we have ever made They are not only purchased for your car, but by numerous shops doing custom builds with engine swaps on various vehicles with applicable engine fitment. They have always been a great performer and always will haha. PM sent, and I look forward to working with you!

Hey there Slakker! Very educated statement, the factory cats are indeed the biggest restriction point on the car and upgrading to our Sport Cat or Catbypass X-Pipe will see the biggest performance gains of one given exhaust section.

That being said, the factory headers are not a very free flowing design as the exhaust collision of the primary tubes is a restriction point on these cars. Our Sport Headers use a more efficient primary tube design with an investment cast 3-to-1 merge collector to smoothly merge the exhaust flow together. We've seen 10-15hp/tq depending on the car and upgrades done already. Sound improvement is also quite nice with what I would describe as a smoother, more exotic pitch as you progress through the RPMs

Also interested in these headers but also the x-pipe and the mufflers. What is holding me back is the cost. The quality looks amazing and there is a gain to a good exhaust system. Like any components all three, headers, x-pipe and mufflers work well together.
Thanks

I can't speak to performance gains as mine were on the car when I bought it. But, I love the sound of my exhaust and will say that all my Fabspeed products are really top notch craftsmanship. It's a shame that on a 911 these are hidden under the car!
