I realize these dates don't line up..... BUT, a ton of you mentioned wanting to get some track time and the Porsche Club has set up registration for the March 18-19 event...
so if any of you wanna get your baby on track - here's a great chance the run the 3.4 layout
I will just post the info direct from the club email... hopefully the links still work.
(EDIT: link didn't work: click here to register: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...s-vegas-140692 )
This event will be run on the challenging 3.4 Mile layout, the favorite configuration of many. This configuration has everything: technical turns, high speed straights, off camber turns, elevation changes, and more . . .
For experienced track drivers, we offer three different run groups, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced, to maximize Safety and track time (30 minute sessions). Instructors will be available for all run groups to help you refine your driving skills.
There will not be a Ground School/Car Control Clinic at this event because we are holding a New Instructor School. If you have never driven on a racetrack or have not had formal high performance driving training, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS EVENT! Our Ground School/Car Control Clinic will return at the May 27-28 event.

Track gates open at 7:00am and the MANDATORY Driver's Meeting is at 8:00am.
If you are planning to attend be sure to review the requirements for DE Events and have your car inspected before coming to the track.
SPECIAL NOTE: Helmets must now be rated Snell 2010 or newer.
Snell 2005 rated helmets will no longer be allowed.

We would love to have you join us for a fun time honing your driving skills.
Our second Spring Event will be May 27-28, also at Spring Mountain on the 3.4-mile layout. We are working on Fall dates in September and November.

Spring Mountain is a great track
The CDI Scott Mann from the Las Vegas chapter does a great "Hayride" Sat after the track goes cold. You ride around the track on a trailer and he goes over the track and gives you an incredible amount of info on the line and grip
The hotels in Pahrump suck

Yeah, but Art Bell lives there, so...if you want to stay in a crappy hotel and potentially have your anus probed by aliens, Pahrump is the ticket.

there are a limited number of condo rentals available at the track - I've been able to rent one the past few track days. they are small effeciency apartments basically.
It is really nice though - on the really hot days - you can go grab a shower at lunch before the afternoon session.
they are building a new marriot branded hotel right outside the track - construction starts later this year.
the 3.4 layout the run is a TON of fun, here's a lap in my base Boxster last year:
