Porsche Tools Oil Filter Wrench & Shifter Centering Tool
I stopped by my local Porsche dealer parts dept. today and asked for the Oil Filter removal wrench and the shifter centering tool.
I just read on Loren's DIY page that the shifter tool won't fit the B&M so scratch that one.
Anyway the parts guy looked at me like I was completely nuts! He said "Porsche doesn't sell tools" and that I should try a place called Miller's Tools and should search for it on the internet.
After telling him that I remember there were part #'s (I didn't have them with me) he actually lifted a finger and tried to look them up on his computer. Nothing! He and another guy thought I was crazy.
Do they just suck and I should try someplace else?
TIA

I have both tools. Guess where I got them from. Go in the service department and borrow the tool catalog then show it to parts.
I did not like the filter wrench Porsche sells as it requires a 27mm socket. After having used it for about a dozen oil changes on local cars I then bought the Hazet version as it works with a 3/8" extension. Jeff

Hazet 2169. 14mm with 14 flats. The mechanics at my local dealer use the same tool. Works on some Audi, VW, and Mercedes. Bought mine from Samstag Sales. They are also sold on ebay. Less than $20 if you shop around.
Never heard of Miller's Tool for Porsche tools. Might be confused with Sir Tools which does make tools for Porsche. I have their electrical pin removal tool.

I use the Mercedes tool number 103-589-02-09-00 which comes with two tapped holes on the side and the cap end and two screws . The screws can be used on the sides to give extra grip when turning and then on the end to help pop off the engine filter cup. The Porsche mechanics at my combined MBZ/Porsche dealership use this tool, also.

DJ...I thought I read over on Loren's tech site that the shifter tool doesn't fit over the B&M shifter?
Does it?
If it does do you have a part # so I can show my local parts dept. how clueless they are?
TIA

The shift cable adjustment tool does not fit on a B&M. In the B&M install DVD I made I show how to use the tool on the oem shift. Then I show how the tool will not fit on a B&M.
