If Slakker has learned wife cost translator-ese "I dunno, not much, $50? Something like that. But, it's basically safety gear. Gotta stay safe."

Luckily wife has quit asking costs. It's really best for the both of us. Speaking of cost, I'm abandoning the Cup suspension upgrade. The costs are spiraling and I just don't think there is enough benefit on a C2 to justify. I think it would make more sense on a C4 or Turbo.

Went to bleed the systems and brake fluid started coming out of the bell housing. Ugh.

Just add to the list of learning experiences. I shipped it with the clutch release lever on and came back with it off. Since I didn't even know what it was I didn't catch that it was sitting in the bottom of the shipping container instead of on the transmission.

Time to try out the Longacre scales and laser level system. I got the leveling pads and laser level off of eBay. The scales came from Longacre's outlet site for about what you'd find them used.
I got the laser level simply because it was recommended but I had no idea how to use them. Let me say, it was worth every frickin penny and then some. Not only did it make leveling the scales a breeze, but it is also used to measure ride height while on the pads.
I've had several comments about the amount of rake I had. A lot of the TX SP996 guys run around 1/2" but there's some solid RLer's that swear an 1" is perfect. So when I had the shop corner balance, I thought that's what it was supposed to be set at. Or so I thought. Turns out I had 2 1/2" of rake and the cross weights were way off! I know what happened, one of the tires was jamming against the lift when they set it down and it screwed up all of the measurements. We didn't figure it out until adjusting the toe and nobody thought to double check the corner balance.
Before cross weights:
After cross weights with 180lbs of dumbbells in the drivers seat. Total weight, with ballast, was just a hair over 2700lbs. Next up is the alignment.

I probably wouldn't go over -1.5camber 0mm toe front. And -2.0 camber and 2mm toe in (total) rear. That should help at the track without wearing too fast on the street.
Edit: whoops, rear should be toe in, not out.

Nice setup!

Nice job! Corner balancing is such a pain.
So are you using in spacers in your LCAs? I had to remove mine due to wheel well interference issues. Also what is your height measurements? I run 110 mm front and 123 mm rear. That is working well for me. I do have a minor inside LR rub squeak in hard right turns at speed that I need to address.

I'm running 110mm F and 135mn R. Jrgordonsr and onefastviking swear by 25mm's of rake. Interestingly enough, the 60mm of rake I've been unintentionally running actually felt pretty decent. The nose dive in break zones was annoying (hence the motivation behind upgrading to a Gikken LSD) but the turn in was amazing. Lol.
The adjustable thrust arms I just picked up solved my rubbing problem. I have the LCA's, with 15mm of shims and monoballs, pushed as far back as they'll go without binding. With a little trimming on the side rocker, this gives me full turning radius with about 5mm clearance front and back. I have an extra pair of adjustable thrust arms if anyone is interested.
Set camber using longacre digital level and toe using a used Smart String I picked up on eBay. Both work very well. An old Indian trick I read somewhere is using 4 glossy magazine pages between the tire and scale. This reduces friction enough that you can adjust without a turning plate.

Torqued and painted all nuts and bolts in the suspension and the axle. With everything I've had apart, it would be too easy to miss one. Now I can verify everything is tight just by looking. Hopefully I picked a color of nail polish that my wife wasn't planning on using.
