They drive like nothing else I've owned. It just has so damn much character and balance to it. Amazingly engineered vehicles.

Heat does that. New ***** are 30 or 40 bucks. My 996 lived in AZ and FLA before I got. They were sticky.

I saw them for only $12 on Suncoast I think. But I don't touch my ***** too often. 😜

I've always hated driving a stick in traffic, but this makes it worth it. I'm doing my best do to avoid modding it, but it won't last long... I can feel it calling me.

I can't believe I'm considering on making this my daily driver, my E30 is crying right now

I had the same thought when I picked mine up. I was told here I would soon end up driving it all the time. They were right.

Sharp car. I've got a set of H&R springs that would give it the perfect stance.

One of the few notable differences between the Evo X and the 996 is the steering response. A smaller steering wheel seems to be a step in the right direction, any other ideas?

I'm not looking to get at the same level, just any improvements would be helpful.

Oh, and let's just say the 996 is better already because of one thing I hated in the Evo. First and second gear would buck like hell, could not drive smooth at a slow speed. The 996 is great for driving, even given traffic.

The Evo is so much more responsive. So much that you have to be careful not to over turn in circumstances that could cause a disaster. I bet the steering response is the reason the insurance is so high on the Evo.

I don't want that level, but something close to it would be great. I'm already looking for a lighter smaller steering wheel and anything I can do enhance the steering ratio.

That's something I've also noticed. Steering effort is pretty light due to the lack of weight over the front axle, but definitely not all that quick. It's fine for day to day driving, but on technical sections of road, I find myself shuffling my hands on the wheel more often than I'd prefer.

Driving it smoothly at low speeds is a bit of a challenge though, the clutch engagement is a bit sensitive I feel like. Or maybe I'm just not used to it.

Hmmm, ok. I find the steering on the 996 (I've got a C4 so a little different than C2) to be super responsive with lots of road feel/feedback. I've never driven a EVO so I can't draw a direct comparison. This being said, why would anyone want a vehicle to have steering as you described above? It sounds uncomfortable and potentially dangerous according to your description...
