LN Spin-on Oil adapter - worth it?

At the moment I have 5w50 M1. And yes, I don't have access to any DT40 Joe Gibbs(?) magic liquid in New Zealand.
I will probably use M1 0w40 or Castrol 5w40 or 0w40, although from what I read 5w40 or 5w50 oil will be better as the engine gets older.
I've just started using spin-on from early June, and have been using 5w50 previously. It's a Porsche A40 oil anyway.
Fingers crossed hoping that this thread won't trun into an oil thread!!

I think Castrol has a better wear package than M1.
