An IMS replacement question - sorry
I could not find this answer on any of these boards.
When one replaces the IMS, is there anything "special" about it. I thought I had read that you have to tie down the cams when the old IMS is removed.
Sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered.

Yes, it's quite "special". It would be wise to follow these instructions developed by Jake and Charles. Also try to understand each step and why it's done. That way the info will stick better and it's less likely to screw up.

In short - yes, locking down the cams is necessary, as opposed to "tying down the cams" like with rope in a bonda..wait, wait...locking the cams in the correct position is necessary when doing an IMS replacement. Thank you Ahsai! Whew!

The RND roller bearing installation instructions are also useful and have good pictures FYI. The actual bearing swap may be the easiest part of the job. Getting ready to do it properly is where the time and proficiency is required.
