Default My Li'l Boat - OT

Friday - Just got home from dumping my 1967 18' Bell Boy in the water for the season. Gives me a chance to spend some time with my homeless handyman Joe - He doesn't get the opportunity to do anything fun so every year we spend the day dropping the boat in the water and cruising over to the beach house prepping it for the summer.

Now nestling back sucking a few vodka sodas down.

We use our boat as a taxi to go back and forth to our beach house which is on a private island about 5 miles off the coast of Everett which is 30 miles north of Seattle. Port of Everett has a nice marina and at $130/month for a slip works out well.

Our summers here are great. Weather from June - November is beautiful.

I've had lots of boats but this Lil bast_rd has been so reliable - All winter wrapped up outside and first turn of the ignition it cranks up and runs smooth.

If it was human I'd compare it to Leslie Stahl of 60 minutes - Not much of a "looker" but dependable, good bones, gets the job done, in for the long haul and not much of a complainer.

Glad to see you aren't one of the a-holes who holds everyone up at the Fremont bridge. Fuggin sail boats.

Lived in Queen Anne for 5 years. Moved down to SoCal for work. I can't tell you how much I miss living there.

Blow boats are where it's at, and I love it when the draw bridge has to go up! All things aside I'm real fond of vintage boats as well

Nice looking boat man. It's not about what the boat looks like, it's the adventures you have with them. I'm in New Jersey. I live on the water in a very touristy area during the summer. My boat sank during sandy, and I haven't replaced it yet. Still haven't decided what I want to do. But either way, keep that thing in good health and you'll be good. Best of luck to you.

I had a sneaky suspicion this was going to be a "Which Rolex should I wear with the Ferrari" look-at-me thread...but "My lil' boat" really did turn out to be an 18' runabout and not a 250' monster with a helipad.

That's the difference between the 996 and the 991 forums.

Especially this weekend, with the viaduct closure. 5 through downtown is ugly right now. Not Bay Area level still, though.

Boat looks great, sounds perfect for summer. Weekends like this make me miss the hell out of this place, I need to move back. 85 on Monday!

In a 15 knot breeze it wouldn't keep up, capsize and/or run out of fuel

A nice little runabout the owner of which doesn't have a problem with sail boats I'll wager
