Default Cup Holder?

So, the cup holder in the dash works but the front piece is missing. I called the dealership and they want to sell me an entire new cupholder for around $300+. This is ridiculous, it looks the same as for the Volkswagen Jetta I can buy used for $40. However, even used they are $200+.

So... my question is if anyone sells replacement front plastic pieces for these? Or, where I can find a good one for a reasonable price.

Thanks!

As you didn't provide a photo, it's hard to tell exactly what's wrong. But if you want to fix it
on the "cheap", you can probably rig up something with double sided cloth tape - which
should hold the drink in (which is all you really need it to do).

Sorry, I can't tell what front piece is missing - it looks like the photo you posted is of the
"standard" unit. If you're talking about the vertical cracks which appear in the photo
it does not look like anything worth worrying about. Put some nice strong
epoxy glue over the crack.

Do you think the front piece off of the Jetta will work? Heck, the entire assembly may be the same.

I would wrap it in a vynl strip that resembles the thin trim on the passenger side dash. It would look clean and consistent. Just thinking out loud here

If you still have the pieces, epoxy, sand, repaint. done.

I believe I used a strip I cut out of a black vinyl DVD case to fix the front of the Boxté's cup holder - mine had the same vertical cracking, so I added a layer of epoxy and used the vinyl to make it all disappear.

Wow, so that piece is commonly broken? Probably why it is missing on mine..

The curvature of the fascia is different than the Jetta, although it is essentially the same design. I will check to see if I can make a piece since there is no way in hell I will ever put a cup of liquid above my PCM Navigation and risk spilling!!

Look at this one. This is a great source for used parts.

Ok, let me explain the issue again.

The fascia is missing but cup holder works fine. I just need a replacement fascia

What about buying the Jetta piece and just removing the VW fascia? That would at least get you some working cupholders.
