How 996 owners are viewed by the 997 crew...
Lurking a couple of threads in 997 land and found a couple of very funny 996-crowd references:
"996 guys - who are the most helpful I have found on many forums - all tend to be a little unhinged"
Our resident VW enthusiast apparently made himself a name in the 997 forum during his momentary period of 997 ownership...
"Only that old guy from the 996 forum that bought a 997 and continuously complained about it. That guy could have used a swift kick down south (or three...or five)."
John, if you've sobered up from St. Patrick's Day, I think you should head over there. They messed with the bull...give 'em the horns.

Only a little unhinged? We need to work on that.
I get the impression they look on 996 owners as those relatives from West Virginia that have few teeth and many cousins to whom they get married to create three-headed kids

curious to see the outcome of the 997 poster's IMS bearing thread - he posted on 996 forum too regarding the possibility he got "shafted" by his mechanic who claims he replaced the bearing.

I have heard it said the the 997er's are jealous of the 996 crew because we have a better car for a lot less $$. Glad SP stays around he was one of us before he moved on, so he's ok in my book. "Unhinged"? Who determines who is or is not hinged and who determined those who decide are hinged themselves? Besides being a little crazy(unhinged) is ok and it causes some funny interchanges because we have the ability to laugh at ourselves. Life doesn't have to be so serious all of the time! I'll get off my soapbox now...Thank you...Thank you very much

Unhinged? I resemble that remark...I really do! Aside from that, I am proud of my 996 and I don't give a damn what anybody else thinks about it, or ranks it, or has some opinion about it. I am also grateful for this forum and have a great deal of respect for the people and information shared.

the RL forum member agreement clearly states "any contribution to the 996 forum is strictly prohibited unless it is demeaning, demoralizing and invites other contributors to follow suit".

I must have missed that when I signed up. Good to know I'm living up to my part of the bargain though
