Default Airbag Light On

OK...I tried the electrical contact spray on the seatbelt buckles....no change. How can I tell if it is a bad Airbag Sensor Control Unit? And....are the Airbags inoperative when that light is on? Anything else that I should check? Thanks for your help.

What scanner did you use? There got to be fault code(s).

With a generic scan tool, or with PIWIS/Durametric?

No Durametric within 200 miles of my car. Have an iCarSoft i960 scanner with Porsche "software". Not as detailed as a Durametric readout....but, it seems to be accurate. But still throwing no codes and Airbag light still on........really curious to see if the Airbag system is inop. with the light on???

If you have an airbag light, but no fault code in the control unit, I would suspect the code reader software/cable first.

Try it with a real Durametric or Porsche PiWIS before digging in to replacing the airbag control unit.

That rules out the issue with Durametric and the 99's.
