Default Airbag Code 48

Hi, All;

my 2001 C2 had the airbag light on. I got a Durametric kit from my son for Christmas, so finally checked it out today.

The code that came up was 48 - Passenger Side Seatbelt Buckle. At least, I think it said buckle (sorry..)

I always kinda thought that it was the receptacle that caused problems. If so, for those of you who've fixed it in the past, do you disassemble the receptacle, or just spray a load of Deoxit in the belt buckle slot? If I'm right above, and it is the BUCKLE, is there a chip or something in there, or just clean the metal buckle end?

Thanks for any suggestions;
Carl

Deoxit in the belt buckle slot first. Check the wiring connector to the belt buckle to make sure it hasn't come undone.

Thanks, DBJoe; I just wasn't sure if I needed to disassemble the buckle first to allow greater "reach" of the spray. The light only comes on about once every 3 months, and is used regularly, so I don't think the wiring is undone, but will check it anyway.

Thanks!
