Why did the one at the beginning in the showroom have white side wing direction indicators and the one you ended up with have orange ones?

Otherwise ice looking motor well done good find

Very nice 996 - might be one of the lowest-mileage examples I've seen someone post up here. A 928 _and_ a 996? Way to give the finger to the air-cooled 911 crowd.

Seriously, though - nice car. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

Actually,

The images are out of order. Taken at different times and i tried to upload in order but once processed the images came in a different order.

Yes, I could have spent more time reordering but... Hey, I'm lazy!

The "showroom" is actually the garage where I store the car..Or actually swap it out with my other vehicle(s) if I take it home.

Very happy with the 996 so far. I work a lot so no time for a lot of rolling restoration antics right now. I've been down that road before. We ALL know how this Delusion of Grandeur often ends up.

The extra "expense" of the initial outlay so far is paying off in enjoyment of the car and immediate drive time. This may sound strange to some but between work and travel, etc, time is often at a premium so my "zen" moments are simply detailing from top to bottom. Just my thing. Then next maintenance, oil, brake fluid, inspection, 1-2, etc. Some light mods, depending.

I've restored two vehicles in the past, (TVR, TR6) as well a mechanic apprentice for a few years. I've learned that its better to buy in the best condition possible. The one thing one does not recoup is the time spent on the project. A lot of things can occur in life during the restoration...Often holding it up or not finishing at all.

Next year I'll place her in a few concours events along with the 928. Looking forward to it.

LOL,

Thats a good one! Being a Car Designer we often beat to our own drum.

BUT I can say I have many friends with air cooled AND H20 cooled and we all get along. Infact the 928 and believe it or not accolades have been expressed for both and yes even, I repeat the 996. More and more I've been hearing searches (and buying) are being conducted for one (928 AND 996) and how much they are liked.

Seriously.

So hold hope and positivity for the future of the 996 (the unloved 911). Hmmmm, it wasn't long ago I heard similar feelings toward 964's.

So sit back, enjoy your car...

Wow, the lime green 911 reminds me of the one my dads friend owned in the 1980s. I got to drive it in HS. It was a great car and began my passion for these cars.
Best of luck with your new one.
