Default My car ended up at the competing Porsche dealer?

So I traded in my 996 at Porsche North Olmsted. Just looking for 911's and I see it for sale at the Porsche dealership across town?

I thought they were owned by 2 different companies? Anyway, some nice pics of my car so I can reminisce. I may call them and tell them I have the snow tires, hard top and 18 turbo twists for it if they are interested.

Also, great photos. They missed taking pics of all the imperfections.

They are listing it at $22,799. How much did they give you for trade-in? That will help others know how much room they may have to work with when buying.

$15K. If anyone is interested, it may be the best 996 buy out there. I had well over $40K invested in the car. It looks like they refinished the wheels. Can't tell of they did anything else.

Yowza, almost $8K mark-up! Way more profit for them than from a new car.

I wouldn't say they "missed" them

I wouldn't offer your extra stuff to them. That'll put just more in their pocket. Go take it for a test drive and stick your contact info in the manual. If the new owner is a good one that reads the manual, they'll find your number and give you a call. The. You can offer them a deal and you get to know where your baby went next.

Just because they ask for a life, didn't mean they will get if. Relax. They can sell it for wherever they want to. Also, doesn't mean they will get that pice.

I agree. I personally would not pay that much. I think a fair market value is 17; 18 tops. No offense dgjks6. I loved my MKII $30K worth, put it up for sale $24 thinking that was market value but it sold for $21. That's the reality with these things. Move on dude. Don't look back. The road to the future is in front of you, not behind you.

I just purchased a 99 c2 same colors from a good friend who had it from new. The car was mint garaged from new with new Tires (P1) with 14.5k miles for 24K and felt like a stole the car. Plush seats, 6 spd, full leather, 18 in turbo wheels.

Even at their asking price I still think whoever gets it gets the deal of the century, if it had the hard top that is. Mainly because it's a 99 convertible with low mileage. IMHO. BTW what (if yet), did you buy to replace it and how much did you pay???????

2016 macan. Paid about $65. Bought it off the lot. Was in and out of the dealership in 90 minutes.

I personally think they'll get pretty close to asking price.
Prices are on the up. Even with winter approaching.

Dealers swap cars all the time. Could be the dealer where you traded the car had a surplus of similar cars while the other dealer had a shortage of 996's.

BTW, an approx. 25% markup up over what you were allowed for a trade in is quite common.

I traded in a 2006 GTO for just under $16K and found it for sale on a Chevy lot -- owned by the same guy who owned the Porsche dealer where I traded in the GTO for a 2008 Cayman S -- offered for sale at $19,999, marked down (!) from $21,999.

For a trade in, essentially the dealer buys the car at wholesale and of course sells it at retail.

My father-in-law told me he made more money selling used cars than new ones.

Big money in used cars.

The dealer that sold me my 996 kept my 986 on the showroom (next to an Aston) until it sold - like you, I enjoyed seeing "my" car online...
