removing airbag warning on sun visors
On my car there are ugly warning labels on the sunvisors... they apear to be painted on (not stickers). How do I get them off?
Thanks,
Ross

Alcohol, Q-tips, and some patience. Takes about 20 min per. There will be a residual darker area where the sticker was. Use a Trim restorer/detailer like Mothers or ForeverBlack. It improves the color, but still noticeable. Better than that horrendous sticker.

DO NOT USE REGULAR ALCOHOL.
Buy denatured alcohol at your local hardware/supply house.

I know this sounds crazy but I think my sunvisors are leather. I bought the car used and the guy before me order full leather, and also optioned for leather visors. I'd like to take the stickers off too. If the visors are leather will the denatured alcohol harm the leather? Thanks.

FWIW, I bought my 02 Cab with full leather option in Met Blue. Order guide says "sunvisors in leatherette." Even though the visors themselves are Met Blue, here is no leather "aroma" in mine and the texture and grain of the visors is different than the leather covered items.

I have leather visors ( it is a separate option from full leather, so you can check the option codes in your trunk to be sure) and my warning sticker peeled off pretty easily. I may have used a little heat but not much. This is on the underside. The sticker on the other side is on the plastic mirror cover and I haven't figured out a good way to get that one off.

Karl s,
I have two option codes that I can't figure out. After much research I still haven't found the answer. Do either numbers, 9981 or 9991, correspond to the leather visor option? If not, does anybody have any idea what they are?

There is no way you can mistake the cheap vinyl sunvisor for a leather one. It is one of my biggest pet peeves with the full leather option. Everything in leather, except this cheap obviously plastic thing that sits just above eye level while driving. The only thing that is preventing me from buying the Porsche leather sun visor separately is that I have an even bigger disgust for the outrageous prices Porsche options and aftermarket items command. A separate $500 for leather sunvisors that should have logically been included in full leather option? EGAD!!!!

Shame on me! I thought "FULL" meant FULL leather. Never checked that other option. At the time of the order what was another $500. But now...no way! At least they're blue
