Kudos to CAI for a nice radio installation kit

Good god. I'm going to have to retake that picture with my wing tips and Cavelli suit.
Seriously though, I've been around here since 2003 (see my sig to the left) and this is my 3rd 911 since I bought my first in 1994, a 1983 SC Targa manual. After I sold that one with 225k miles (140k of those mine) I bought a 1992 964 coupe manual. I really miss that car, but my two sons (and my ex) insisted on a bigger car so I got a Jag XJR. I sold my 964 after putting 120k additional on the clock. Deer got my XJR which brings me to my current ride.
I make no apologies for the tip. It's very nice to leave it in M and handle the gears without killing my calves in Atlanta rush hour. And you guys are just jealous of the Cab. Just admit it and feel better.
And to that other guy looking at the 40 Jarge in Texas, will you buy the damn thing already?
I also found the flattest freq response using a test CD and a C-weighted meter. See attached. The 50-400 hz is still too loud, but at speed it evens out.
And an earlier poster had it right. I love the functionality of this radio, but it can get distracting from driving. I almost ran into someone today trying to find the right button. The more i use it, though, the less i need to look at it.

"But judging by the reactions of women of a certain age to Porsche’s smallest ute, the Macan might just be the vehicular equivalent of wearing tight black pants in a hot room."
And no - I don't drive a Macan - it is my wife's car (who I will say looks good in black yoga pants). I am currently rolling in a 2006 Pontiac.

Care to share some details?
Year of car?
If 996.2 does it have the Bose with MOST wiring?
Cost of unit plus install?
Thanks. I have a 996.2 with MOST and the only logical solution seems to be the Denison unit to get Bluetooth and streaming while keeping the factory look, but if this were cheaper/same I would consider it! The MOST makes for one hell of a headache.....

I had MOST in my Jag and it was a PIA. Actually, Jag was even worse because not only was it digital, it was all fiber-optic and fully integrated into the HVAC and NAV! Talk about lock-in.
Mine came with the Bose w/4-channel amp and 6-CD changer. I special ordered the Kenwood DDX9902S with CAI's Kenwood install kit. The whole thing shipped came to ~$950. They provide a pre-wired harness that plugs into the back of the radio and connects directly to the Porsche wiring harness. So there are no wires to cut and strip and figure out what gets crimped to what. It is literally plug and play. They also provided very nice printed step by step instructions and a few YouTube videos.
CAI has figured out a MOST Replacement, but it is obviously going to be a little more time consuming and complicated. At least it's not connected to any of the auxiliary systems (that I know of).
I should mention I have no connection to CAI other than as a happy customer.
