Two Days, Two Flights and One New Car

Back home from two days of work. Here are a few pics to tide you guys over. I'll post some final (nice) pics this week after I've done some finish restoration work. She needs to be handled with a clay bar, compound, polish, glaze and wax. I'm in for one really hot day of suffering tomorrow, but the results will be worth it. I've gone over it pretty well mechanically and detailed the wheels while I had them off last week.

Outside Oklahoma City on the way home. No desert dweller can pass up a nice green field for a P-Car pic!
By the dawn's early light, passing through Gallup, NM.
Out for a movie, second night of ownership.

As a fellow L.R.Disco enthusiast may I assure you that even the worst P-car is probably an upgrade:-). The nice difference is that when you have done an expensive diy repair, the vehicle is worth something !
Great story ,thanks for sharing and how gracious of you to thanks other Forum members for helping you - even before you owned the car !

Great looking 996! I bought my first 996 out in Dallas and drove it straight through home to FL. Great way to become one with the car.
I'm also a LR owner. I had two friends have their tow vehicles stolen from the hotel during track weekends. Pretty well assured that nobody is stealing my Land Rover. Even thieves have standards!

That's one great looking ride, love everything about it. Now I guess we should start a Land Rovers and Porsche thread, lol. Or how far and how long would you drive for the right P-car. Cheers

Thanks for the comment. It is really difficult to sell used Land Rovers so perhaps I'll use your 'recommendation' :-).

My SO was president of the Land Rover club in Las Vegas. I've never owned one, though. We're looking to buy a beater Jeep. Never owned one of those either, but looks fun. We have some great off-roading areas in the desert near here.
