Default torx screw porsche 996 headlamp - no grip

Trying to adjust height beam on headlamp / litronic. When trying to use the lower torx ( labelled B ) the reflector shows no sign of moving. So, is there any parts than can be replaced in the headlamp to make it going or is the only option availabe to get a used headlamp @ 1000 USD or more ?

Does it move up and down when you turn the ignition on? My understanding of the litronic lights is that they move up and down when you turn on the ignition.

Both headlights moves up when ignition is switched on. But right hand side do not move up enougth. Since the torx adjustments bolts moves freely I have the impression they must be broken inside the unit. They don´t make the reflector to move at all.

If the alignment test fails on the headlamp then most likely the adjuster has jumped out of the sprocket or it is indeed broken

Have to open the headlamp to find out

Thanks. Opened the headlamp and found that the vertical screw had no connection with the adjustment screw. After some adjustment I managaed to get them to work. But after adjustments it seems that the main beam do not move.. So, it will be anew try-out tonight.

3rd test at MOT it took. The error was that the assembly inside the house had gone loose after I was hit by a woman in a Volvo with hook. My car jumped back 1/2 meter when she bounced in my car. So, after new bumbers, respraying etc, it was like new. ( 2000.00 USD ) But inside the house the headlight had come loose from the hinges which made it impossibly to adjust. Nothing they had looked after at the repair shop, but MOT will be so happy to inform you...

Now like new. https://minfil.org/sbO6i1b9be/Lampa

I'm running into a similar problem. The vertical adjustment gear on my passenger side won't move. When you spin the screw the gear doesn't move. How much do I need to take apart to fix?

Sweden sounds different. So was it the Volvo that has a "hook" or the woman ? or Hookah or Hooker?
Glad you found the answer and congratulations on your American-English. Much better than our Swedish!

Out of curiosity what tool salesman invented the torx screw, and to solve what mechanical problem in life?

Sometimes just unseating and reseating the light in its slot will be enough to make the assembly start working properly again. I need to do this about once a year to my right headlight. Using the tool in the spare tire toolkit, use the Litronic tool to crank the light forward and then back...

Torx was invented to remove the ability of idiots with pocket knives/keys from disassembling bathroom stalls and taking electronics apart. It got worse from there.

I'm betting it was invented to force DYI people to buy more tools and/or discourage them from working on their own cars. Or its the commies trying to make everyone go metric.
