DRLs not working
Dammit.... I just fitted DRLs and made some kind of wrong connection as they are not lighting up as the ignition is switched on. I am sure it is something I have failed to do and should get it right before the day is out. Just taking a breather and venting my anger.

Sure Whitlow.. This is my actual lights won on ebay. They were buy it now at $35 starting at $17-99c. Free delivary. Click on the picture.

They are only a few ounces in weight and double sided tape sticks them easily and thoroughly.
If I had my time to do again I would have stuck them to the underside of where they are now. Unfortunately they are now STUCK and I mean STUCK STUCK.
I have my DLRS + GPS + Radar detector all coming on as I turn the ignition on. I picked up the electrical source for all three from behind the panel next to my driving foot. There is a double plug with 4 wires in there. One part is ON all the time. The other part becomes live as the ignition switch is turned on. The whole job to buy and install the DRLs cost me less then $20..

Those actually look fairly bright for eBay stuff in that photo. How does it look in bright day light from an offset view angle, like cars that would be approaching from the other side?

Not very good in Bright sunshine. But good in cloudy day. Actually brighter or should I say 'whiter' light than any other on the car. It doesn't show in the photos though. Like I say if I had my time to do it again I would have stuck them under the lip as against standing on top of the lip. Plus if another driver or pedestrian have to rely on seeing DLRs and cannot see a 996 car on a bright sunlit day, then they should not be out on the roads. They look good and serve the purpose I think. BTW right now I see the same ones on ebay for less than I paid for mine. Some as low as $6 for the pair and free shipping. They are the exact same as mine.

Lights look good, and sounds like they were pretty straightforward to install. I may pick a set up. Thanks for the eBay links.
One more question. For your radiator intake grills, did you by any chance get those from Rennline? (here) Yours look good, and I've been thinking of doing the same thing to limit the amount of crap that makes it back to my radiators. If they are the Rennline ones, were they pretty easy to install?
Thanks again.

Read all the postings as one guy did the same with gutter guard to his 997. It's looks terrific.

Great DIY and nice post on how you did them. Thanks!
I wish the Rennline ones were cheaper. I can't imagine they need to be priced that high even with development, manufacturing, and overhead costs factored in. If they would knock 1/2 off their asking price, I'd be inclined to get them, just to avoid having to fabricate something myself. As it is, it looks like I'll be shopping for some Gutter Guard in the near future.

I made them myself for $5... Just the same mesh as rennline honestly. Leaf Guards from a local hardware store. I wasn't for paying out $300 for the rennlist ones. They have been in all kinds of weather and never tarnish. One gutter guard made both sides for actually less than $5.. Here is a posting I made a while back about doing the DIY involved. I suspected my DRL thread would turn into a gutter guard thread when you all saw them close up. Best mod I ever thought of.
