Default Going to to check out a 2003 996 C4 Cab

Hi folks, I'm going to go check out a 2003 996 C4 Cab on Monday. Here is a quick description:

Slate Grey Metallic
All Wheel Drive
6-Cyl. 3.6liter 315hp 273lb torque
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Black Leather
Auto Climate Control
Premium Sound w/CD Player
18" premium Alloy w/ New Tires
Dual Front / Side Airbags
Full Service History
Service History - Clean CarFax
New IMS Ceramic Bearing Upgrade
New Clutch / flywheel Upgrade

I checked out the CarFax and it's had 3 previous owners. The service records look great and the dealer/shop is installing new tires, new clutch & flywheel, LN Engineering ceramic IMS and replacing the RMS.

The dealer has great ratings and is a Porsche shop. Hopefully everything goes smooth and I can finally add a 911 to the family.

Please feel free to throw any pointers my way. Cheers!

Thanks! Whoops, I thought I put that in the title. The miles are high - 108K and asking $23,900.

price seems high.. I would beat them up... although your description looks good., it may still be missing a few services.. plugs coils replaced ? w/p replaced? last brake job/? rotors?
good luck !

Okay thanks! Yeah, I'm going to go through all that with them on Monday. I'm just trying to prepare to make the best deal on this one. I appreciate your input!

I just spoke to the shop that used to service it for the last owner and said he was meticulous about the car. He had the expansion tank, plugs, and clutch done at 80k. The w/p was done at 73k. The technician said he would buy the car without question. I'm feeling very good going into this.

By all means, please keep the advice coming folks!

Sounds good, still in the 23.9 range? Or has it been talked down?

I have not discussed pricing yet. I wanted to wait until I actually looked at and driven it.

Good luck. See how it drives and handles and if you like it, then negotiate.

Never trust the mechanic of current owners car. (I'm generalizing, but in most cases) Most mechanics have been paid for prior services and loyalty will be on current owners side. Get it checked out by an unbiased mechanic. You need negotiating room and you can't negotiate when its owner/mechanic allied.

Thanks, but the mechanic has no part in this sale. I found the independent shop via the CarFax. It was maintained there for about 40k miles. The car is not being sold by the owner or the previous shop. The previous owner upgraded to a 991. Not sure he would care what the shop said about his old car to a stranger thinking about purchasing it at another dealer. Maybe I'm naive? It's a good point though. I just don't think it benefits either of them if they don't have a stake in an upcoming sale of a car bought at auction. Thoughts?

BTW, that commercial was funny as hell!

If all checks out and you love the car don't look back and buy it for what you can comfortably afford. Pricing is very subjective
