Default Just picked up a 996tt

Very excited to join the community. I just purchased an '02 996tt with 50K miles. I'm loving the car so far.

Everything checked out except a small leak in the clutch master cylinder (I read this is typical). I'm thinking about doing the GT2 conversion but was quoted $2K for parts and labor which seems a bit steep, even for the South Florida market, but from what I read it's worth it.

Anyone with the conversion, feel free to chime in!!

The GT2 slave conversion. Not sure if I want to replace the clutch slave cylinder and accumulator only to have it fail again.

Eazy996:
Welcome! Congrats on your purchase. FYI, there is a 996TT forum, but you'll find lots of turbo owners hang out here as well. This 996 NA forum is a very good group of guys, and with all of the shared parts between the 996TT and the various NA 996s (especially the C4S model), you'll be welcomed here. You will need to be able to take a joke and laugh at yourself a little bit though.
Now, that being said, introductory posts without pics will earn you a bad rep. So, you'll want to post a whole bunch of pics of your car right away: front, back, side, interior, frunk, engine, etc. So don't be shy.

Thanks Kalyan!

I did some research and I think I'm going to pull the trigger, I just don't know if the price is excessive.

Love it. I wish I could have gotten the TT on so many levels... maybe next time. Hopefully (for me) their value doesn't skyrocket in the next few years.

I would leave it stock for resale and originality purposes, but if your car is modded then I guess that wouldn't be a concern. My mechanic says once updated with newer 997 parts you get less failures. I have read conflicting reports from guys that went with the conversion. Some note that the clutch is much stiffer.

It always costs more than we expect!

Beautiful car.
