2001 C2 When driving on wavy or bumpy roads the car feels like its being pulled side to side and I have to keep the steering wheel straight. I just had the alignment done and it still feels this way. Any suggestions before I go to the shop?
Do you have stock suspension? Mine acted that way until I installed the RowM030 suspension and the front end vague, floating sensation went away. The Row set up lowers the front end giving the steering a more solid feel.
Stock suspension with 78k and I was trying to find a way to describe it and floating feel is exactly it.
Oh that's different than what you initially described it. If it's floating feel and you just got your car aligned, I would have to say upgrading suspension/aero could solve it as it's done for most peeps.
Even though an upgraded suspension is best, the stock suspension shouldn't really feel like it's floating.
Are your struts in good condition?
It is amazing how bad a vehicle will behave when shocks/struts are worn.
I'm with Alpine on this one. However, if you just got the car and came out from other front-engined cars, 996 will feel very light in the front and that's normal.
In general, compared to other cars there are tons of feedback in the 996 steering wheel so you can read exactly what your front tires are doing. So maybe that's part of it too.
What tires? Some tires are true ditchfinders - they'll track you right into the nearest ditch and/or bridge abutment. I found P-Zero Rossos to be exceptionally twitchy.
When you had your suspension done, did they provide the before and after specs? What are they, especially toe and caster?
