The micro switch attaches underneath the console adjacent to the oddments tray cover release mechanism. It detects if the lid is not latched. If you PM me, I will send a couple of pictures showing the switch in place. I happen to have my console out and can see under it.

Regards,

Lang

That is correct. If you look under the center console, you'll see the latch mechanism has three torx screws holding it in, it is part of that mechanism.

Solved thank you for the pic langg!
I had to do an emergency roadside console removal due to shift linkage failure a while back and when i did that i broke the mounting tab the switch goes on to, so thats why i had no idea. Now that i see the pics and the piece with the 2 mounting holes (attached to my switch) its very obvious.

Default Anyway you could send me the pics.

If you could send those pics to me I would appreciate it, installed a new console yesterday and couldn’t figure out where that went to.

Just to add that the plug fits in to the latch mechanism from the gear lever side - horizontally into the middle of the unit

So if you shine a torch underneath the center console, about where the lock is for the storage box, you can see the triangle shaped assembly, and the 3 socket plug (on mine only pins 1 and 3 are populated) plugs in to the middle of the 'top' part towards the gear level

HTH too!

the latch that keeps the center console storage bin closed is monitored and when you try to set the car's alarm it will beep if that isn't properly closed, similar to if the glove box is left open when trying to engage the alarm.

The latch is where the red arrow is and keeps the storage box shut

The sensor is where the green arrow is (underneath the console) and detects if this box is open or closed

The rational is that if the alarm is on, and the storage box opens then the alarm can be triggered

If you don't reconnect the sensor wire then when you lock the car and the alarm primes, you will get a quick beep of the horn as the sensor thinks the box is open
