Default Anyone using a pet seat?

I have a small havanese (~10lbs) and would like to get a safety seat for him to sit in the back of my '03 cab. Anyone have anything like this for their dog? Makes and models would be helpful.

Dr. G,

I was looking for the same thing to no avail...I just let my golden retriever jump in the back seat and only take her on short trips.

We have one for our 13-lb. King Charles Spaniel. It fits perfectly in the rear seat.

Click on the link and scroll down to the 3-in-1 Pet Carrier, Suitcase and Bed. It's very cool but not cheap. Not unlike the car

I've never heard of such a thing . . . the havenese or the dog seat. Curious about both.

Well, the havanese is a smaller breed, there's only about 4500 havanese dogs here in the US. My main reason for getting him was that I am severely allergic to most dogs - even some of the breeds that I shouldn't be that allergic to. A close family friend owns a pet shop and recommended the havanese - said they were very friendly, non-aggressive and best of all almost completely non-allergenic. I have had him for about four months now and have never had a problem with my allergies. Plus he's a great all around dog.

As far as the dog car seat goes, there are boosters so the dog can see out of the car - so they don't get nauseous and vomit. I solved the problem by putting his bed in the back seat and buying a special harness that the rear seat belt threads through. Seemed to work very well, he was in the back for two 90 minute trips yesterday with no problems.

Talking i've got a dog seat!

go to pettails.com--they have doggie car seats in 2 sizes for breeds up to 26 #. a havanese shoud fit well into the small size seat which also doubles as a nice doggie bed in the motel.

we have 2 seats for our sealyham terriers! best use yet for our little back seats--other than toddlers who shouldn't see mom and dad driving the way they do in a porsche
