Default Questions regarding spacers

My car is a 2003 mkII c2 narrow body. My wheels in the rear are 18x10 with a 55mm offset (not the stock 65 offset) and in the front 18x8 with a 50mm offset (stock size, I believe).

I'm running 265/35/18 in the rear and 225/40/18 in the front.

My question is, can I put spacers on the rear without rolling the fenders and if so, how much? 5mm, 10mm ?

And in the front, can I safely put 10mm spacers? What would be the best combo, 10mm in the front, 5mm in the rear?

And lastly, do you guys have a certain brand of spacers that you would recommend? Any web links to those products would be appreciated.

Thanks and happy holidays to all!

I run what you run in the front and have used a 15mm spacer that caused a TINY bit of rubbing on the fender liner when on full lock (which I sometimes need pulling out of my garage but almost never otherwise).

On the rear I have used a 7mm spacer, stock 65 offset wheels wheels but a 285/30 PZero (which is much wider than my Sumitomo in the same exact nominal size), no problems and looks right.

Originally I had planned to run it the other way (7 front, 15 rear) but after trying it the rear wheel/tire stuck out too far (tire was beyond the body looking from the top), so I swapped them and was happy.

I used Adaptec spacers (advertiser here, search the thread). Note that I have a balance/wear issue on the front tires now that I did not have before using the spacers. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the spacers or not as of yet (don't really think so). Still playing around with it trying to figure it out.

Oh, stock suspension.

Thanks. So it sounds like 15mm is the max in the front and rear. Can anyone confirm this?

I use 15 mm H&R spacers all around on my winter set up for a C4S, which is an 18x7.5 on the front and 18x10 on the rear and they work fine. Can't remember the offset on either wheel at the moment but these are 993 turbo twists.

Ok a 15mm spacer on the rear will give you a net offset of 40mm. That is going to stick out of the fenders with a 10" wide wheel for sure. I would say Max is 5mm which is 50mm net offset.
But seems to me 55 is a pretty good offset on a 10" wheel and should allow you to run a 275 or 285 tire if you wanted to.

What is your reason to push the wheels out?

I would only go another 5mm on the rear for a total of 15mm. Then on the front I think I'll go with either a 10mm or a 15mm spacer to even it all out.

I just like the more aggressive look when the wheels are pushed out wider, especially in the rear.

And it's a relatively inexpensive modification.

Has anyone used the ECS tuning spacers? Is one brand better or worse than another?

Thanks.

I am currently running gt3 WB wheels on my lowered mk1 c2.

fronts are 18x8 +50 with 22mm spacer & 225/40/18, no rubbing issues.

Just use a level or plumb bob off of your fender lip, then measure the distance to the wheel. That way you know for sure.

I've used Otis Inc LA spacers and been very happy with them.
