911661 or any of the newer guys, if you wanna know KK in a nutshell, look here at one of his more famous threads...

Paul, I think you may have covered more miles in you picking up your car than what KK has done with his entire length of ownership.

Does the vertical travel of the engine as it is dropped and reinstalled count as mileage?

You know you are Krazy when the Moderator of the 996 board offers you this advice:

Hopefully all pieces will be accounted for during the through flushing of old coolant in preparation for new Porsche coolant. If they are lodged in the heads, it's more difficult to retrive. The 99-01 models crack heads easily.

If (big if) the impeller did come apart and there's nothing but speculation on this, but if the thing did come apart rigging up some pump that pumps water backwards through the engine (and if necessary the radiators through not at the same time as the engine) would flush the pieces out.

if the case, hopefully my mechanic has something of that sort to suction out the pieces

I just had the water pump go on my car a few months ago. When I pulled the pump, the impeller was in pieces, and they were all laying right there in the cavity where the pump is installed, once I pulled the pump, and the thermostat, I had all the pieces. I was able to fit all the pieces back together on the bad pump to even ensure that I had all the pieces. I am no expert, but feeling around in there, unless the impeller had completely smashed up in to really tiny pieces there is really no where for them to go, as the passages arent that big. I posted pictures of mine on the 40th AE thread.
