Do you think if I paid the deposit he'd let me take it for a test drive?

Considering he's had it since 09 and hasn't driven it himself I think he'd have a coronary...

Seeing a story like that about a 996 makes me

Seeing a story like that about a car like that makes me

7ish years of just being cranked once a week. Such a shame. Guy should be flogged publicly for such abuse and then shot

Early car with tip and some body mods. Decent price, but a PPI is required.

Red of course.

Four spoke -- of course.

If this was a decent color, I'd own it.

The red 996.1 Tip seems priced a couple too high, too many things I'd want to revert to stock right off the bat. Is the 4-spoke wheel considered desirable?

That silver Turbo though, damn. Even in a boring colour, $39.9k for a clean, sub-40k mile 996TT is a great value.

^ this. Without seeing it in person or PPI, looks to be like a decent deal. Wish I could afford to upgrade.

Doesn't look like it will last very long at that price.

I can deal with everything except the bore-me-to-tears paint color.

Looks like it needs engine mounts (not a big deal), based on the difference in the gaps between the left and right exhaust tips.

I'd want to know what the story is on that front bumper ... it's not original. Could have been a front end collision, or maybe just a cosmetic replacement. Either way I'd also take a close look at the panel gap and paint match.

I like cabs, but the tip would be a non starter for me (probably the AWD also).

Let me guess, this just happens to be your "friends" roll bar? Rare usually describes a warm red center or something that you can't simply order off of the Internet.

It's at a import performance shop close to where I live. They are Honda specialist but the owner has a modded 997. I'm contemplating buying one or not. Price is steep but they are rare. I tried to order from paramount porsche, and all my local dealers and was told they are not avail to ship to the US.

I called porsche Germany and they said they only have a hand full left. So I think that's pretty rare to me.

I wanted to see one opened the the owner of the shop didn't want to unwrapped the padding and just opened 1 sleeve for me too see. The stainless steel is beautiful. Will never rust and no need to paint. I just can't justify spending 10%of what my car is worth on a bar. The autopower is 1/3 of the price but too heavy and not bolt on. You have to drill into the floorboard and frame.
