Luciendar21....yeah, I know...I live in New England.
BTW, if a 3 hr ride to look at a car is turning you off, you might find your search very frustrating. I was driving 3 hours to check out cars in NJ and LI every weekend for a month and a half, lol. There's just not as many cars to look at up here as there are down in FL or in Cali.
That is a very 90s color. Looks super well optioned but I don't think I could stand ever owning a car with that color. Color is very subjective so to each their own.
2004 Targa, .......... What are the additional issues concerns with the Targa models?
It adds something like 210 pounds at the very top of the car, exactly where you don't want it, since it raises the center of gravity. That affects handling a bit, depending on what you can sense. Other major options like the cabriolet top, Tiptronic, and 4WD also add weight but less and way down lower. And depending on driver size, in the Targa there is a "rail" on the left above the window that houses the Targa roof tracks-- I am taller and hit my head if I leaned to the left.

Isn't this VivG's car? It's also listed in the Rennlist classifieds.
FWIW, I still think this car should be on BAT.
BAT seems like a bit of a pain (commenters, misinformation/FUD around IMS), and their reserve is a bit conservative I feel like. It's pending sale now, maybe I'll go BaT the next time I need to do this.
I cross-posted it to Seattle Craigslist (my other West Coast location) just for broader exposure, turns out that may be what actually sells the car.
Obvious caveats re someone else's rebuild, especially the guards red car that has less than 5k miles since the work was done. I love that Arena red though.
And one more:
Red C2 tip, 83k miles and "all Porsche service", $16k - seems pretty good value if you don't want a 6spd?

Good luck with the search.
TBH, I wouldn't really call it a search. I'm not specifically hunting a 911, or a Porsche for that matter. I'm more rather just waiting for the right deal on something interesting and sporty comes up nearby. I was thinking a BMW 850i, the wife wants an 04-05 WRX STi, I'd really like a 98-02 Viper but they're still just a bit out of my budget in the $30k range, maybe an E39 M5 as I've always liked BMW saloons, and ultimately I've always thought of the 911 as being the ideal daily drive: It's small enough to be easy to park, for 2 people it has plenty of space for luggage or groceries, it's fast and fun to drive, its sexy and gets respect both parked and on the road, and it's reliability is legend.
Ultimately though what I'm looking for is a small, sporty car that I can buy, run for a few years with my paltry 3k-5k mi/yr, and then sell it for what I bought it for. So let's say I buy this car for $11k and put $3500 into it, could I sell it 2-5 years from now with 200k and excellent condition for $14500? Maybe, but I'd be a lot more comfortable under $14k... so, long story short I'm going to shoot for $10k with a cap of $11k and if the owner says no, oh well.
Also for point of reference and in spirit of this thread (albeit blasphemously), if my budget was a little higher I'd probably grab this 01 M5 for $18k. In that condition at 117k in 2-5 years, I'd probably be able to make $5k on it.
Nice little 6 speed cab with 101k miles, asking $15,900. No affiliation, but just about 10 minutes from me if anyone wants a Rennfax done. Appears to be private seller. Nice part of town.
