Well, really they are asking $27,000 ($26,981). I would peg the value on that one at around $21,000. Remember spring fever is about to hit. They might get $23k or $24k - there are some people who value low mileage cars that much. Also, the wear on the bolsters I think is exacerbated by the tan color. Those same seats with that wear in black would look like they are new.
My graphite grey interior has less wear at 70k than that car at 20k something. At $22,000 or less, I would consider buying it purely for the low miles if I was in the market for a 996. Although driving 1,500 miles per year can't be good for that car???
A minor not to pick, but this dealer is not 'asking' that price, they are a no-haggle dealer. So the sticker is what you pay(plus TTL I presume).
I've always wondered about the no-haggle places but have never dealt with one--I kind of thought that it might be part of their game? If I express interest in a car and make a fair offer that's below their price, do they humor it or just send me out the door after figuring out that I'm not going to pay their asking price?
To be fair, I'm not talking about low-balling anyone, I'm talking about making them a fair offer on a car that's clearly overpriced at $27k.
Not endorsing this one - just pointing it out. The owner is a Rennlister and its talked about in the 996TT Craigslist forum. The big bad news is that it has a salvage title and high miles. Not sure I like the paint job (but not crazy bad). The good is the asking price ($31k) and that it has been completely gone through maintenance wise. 2001 PORSCHE 911 Turbo- New single stage paint, Major Service. 583hp & 654tq done right!
I purchased this 2001 Turbo from another Porsche enthusiast last spring with the intention on keeping it for years to come. I am building a 914-6 racecar and I need to fund its completion, or I would be keeping this turbo. This Turbo does have a rebuilt salvage title going back to 2004. The left rear quarter panel was damaged. The frame and suspension is straight, it was totally cosmetic. When I purchased the car the silver paint was cracking so I decided to repair the damage and do a color change to the exterior of the car along with painting the door jams and top side of the engine bay black. You can see the repairs to the fenders in the attached photos. Also this car had an engine out MAJOR service (see below for list). The turbo's, fuel injectors, clutch and intercoolers were upgraded and now with the 911Tuning tune the turbo makes 486whp (583hp at the crank) and 544wtq (654tq crank) with 91octane. With all the upgrades and service items that were performed in the last 300 miles this 911 Turbo will be on the road for a long time to come. I have invoices for all the work performed. Also this 911 Turbo came with a ton of performance parts and upgrades when I purchased it that unfortunately I do not have invoices for. Inspections and PPI's at qualified shops welcome. In this pic it looks like the bumper is a slightly different color, maybe just the lighting? I've seen this seller on eBay at lot, they have a ton of very low mileage examples of various desirable cars.
Edit: The Carfax shows that it had an accident in 2002.
