Author: bmdaiaComment:These 17” wheels are lighter and rarer than “Turbo” twists If there is no “consensus” on that, then the consensus needs to change
Sorry homeboy, rare doesn't equal desirable or valuable

Rarer huh? Stronger too? Shocking they were standard on boxsters I guess. What an idiot.

Set of four 17 inch Boxster wheels for $175. They're 996 fitment though cause they're 9 inch. Weird to see a set of four 9 inch.

The FB seller is likely using them on an all-wheel drive Audi (hence the 5x100 adapters). They likely found two sets of rear wheels via eBay or whatnot and cobbled together this set.

Many Audi folk like to keep the wheelsets square to ensure that the all-wheel drive system is happy with it. Many don't know that AWD systems are fine with staggered setups as long as you keep the outer diameter the same between front and rear wheels.

Oh, and why Porsche wheels on an Audi or VW? They are considered upgraded wheels from the same VW AG family. VW/Audi tuners have been using Porsche wheels for decades on their builds.

Audi's are now 5x112 so the 5x100 is probably a VW, every 5 lug VW car is 5x100 as far as I know. Those Porsche 17's are popular with the VW MK4 crowd.

Could also be a 20 year old Audi, which would be sorta period correct for these wheels. No one would put twists on a modern Audi.

I came up through the VW/Audi scene since the 90s. My first car was a '84 GTI and I had ten more since then.

Which were 4 lugs. Are we really gonna get autistic about lug patterns here ? We may need to bring Luis back. MK4 Jetta/Golfs were 5x100 while the Audi based B5 Passat was 5x112. MK6 Jettas and Golfs ( and newer) are 5x112, I know because I daily a MK6 Golf TDI. My W124 wagon is also 5x112.
People used Porsche wheels on VWs cause 'big' (17inch +) VW wheels were heavy as ****.

The MK3 Golf and Corrado VR6 were 5x100...in 1991. Not to mention the VR6 Passat and Jetta from that era.

Ok so we are getting autistic. Good job citing high trim levels that most won't encounter. Ymunkoke.
