Great. Thanks for the quick reply.

I can certainly do a search on this, but since you are local and in case you are still online: any recommendations for a PPI in SLC?

i agree that it would probably cost you less than that if you had to do it all at once. I looked into it before buying my 996 last week, and I knew what I was In for if I had to do it. Fortunately I found a car that already had everything done, and more.

I was looking at this one a year or so ago but it was bought before I could get over to see it. New owner has passed away and his niece just put it up for sale...
Motor was rebuilt a few years ago by 9xx in Cali.
She just dropped $2000.00 on a thorough PPI...
Thoughts?

verify the repairs and if everything checks out you should buy that car immediately.

I find it odd that it's been for sale for a month and no one has bought it. Maybe things are different on Hawaii. This car was discussed in a 911 group on facebook a few weeks ago too.

Seems like a great deal depending on how minor the reported accident is

Can someone check my math?
I've been trying to get a good estimate for the costs to have all the following done on a 996: IMS/RMS/AOS/water pump/clutch and other miscellaneous "while you're in there" items.

Is that around $5-6k?
Yeah, you're super safe at that price. I just did IMS/RMS/AOS, Clutch, flywheel, brake fluid flush, new inner outter tie rod boots and a few other odd and ins at the tune of $5800. And that was on the pricey side for indies, but I'll pay a premium for a mechanic i know and trust. FYI, I did the coolant tank/cap, water pump, thermostat, 3-4 coolants hoses and a full coolant flush before i dropped it off. If you're even remotely inclined, do that stuff yourself, not hard at all.

Gotcha. I figured as much, I guess most folks out that way can afford the newer stuff.

People either have money or they don't...
I've watched the same 996's go on and off the market for over a year.
