She does look like a beaut, even though it doesn't have full leather and has the clear coat damage on the hood. I sent him an email asking to see the options stickers. Will post here if I get it. I suspect that the aerokit might not be factory installed because it appears to missing the Gurney Flap on the lower rear wing element.

I honestly would have bought it last night when I saw it, but I’m keeping true to my mission to find a 997.2 w aero. Seems like a good seller.

There was a similar car for sale in Miami with aero listed for $24k with double the miles and no IMS upgrade.

Can someone who knows more than I tell me what would be involved in
A) selling the GT3 wing – what's it worth?
B) replacing it with a standard deck lid – how hard/expensive is that to do?

If Ebay is to be used as a source, full 996 aero sells for $5-$6k in great condition (front bumper, sideskirts, rear decklid).

I'd suggest replacing the wing vs going wingless. Check out a GT2 style or even a ducktail and see if it suits your taste more. Problem with the Aero is that the wing and rear decklid are one piece.

Personally id recommend keeping all the aero intact as it is getting harder and harder to find a car with a complete kit. And of the cars that do have it, Silver and Black cars seem to be the majority (with a white car being the holy grail of aero).

IMHO that car is a great deal even without the aero given the IMS update. Hood is a bummer but can be fixed.

That red one in seattle is sweet. Don't follow the guys suggestion and turn into a track car, get it touched up where needed and enjoy. Love the Red and Aero.

Thanks a lot – that really helps.

The GT3 wing is a little hard to sell to my wife (the 996 will be our only car), which is why I was considering swapping it out. But I totally understand that it holds more value in the car just to keep the whole kit intact.

The value on that car – condition, miles, IMS update – seems great. I just need to figure out if I can get a PPI done on it before someone just buys it without one.

No surprise, just hope it went to an enthusiast and not a dealer trying to flip it. Hopefully a rennlister at that.

I had a feeling I was going to be too slow on that one. It's a fine line between jumping on a deal and rushing too quickly to make a purchase without taking the time to get a PPI, etc.
