Yeah enthusiasts on forums always have a lower price perspective I've noticed.

The buyers certainly. I hope that by not being in the market I have a less biased eye.

I think a 30k+ version should need nothing. Maybe not a show car, but should hold up to anything less than formal judgement.

From a quick walk around this looks like a good car, but it needs some love if it's going to be anything other than a DD.

I agree with you. Had I also seen it in person, I would probably be in the same ballpark as your figure too.

You can only sell turds if you have a 993 or the older 911's and still expect it to sell at a premium. This doesn't apply to 996's though.

Looks like its worth about $40k! Come on we need to start supporting the values of the 996 here and run with it! Perception is reality and the longer we keep taking a dump on our values the longer they will stay low... Hmmmm just some crazy talk.. or not.. ?

Strangely that makes a lot of sense. Not sure it changes my thoughts or actions but I can't argue with your logic.

Indeed. In all these years of looking for ettil's car's twin, it's just not out there. KC's old C4 has to be the closest I've seen. Hard to put a price on something you can't replace (and the cost to retrofit a "close" match is not a pretty number at all).

Personally I won't be happy until an 01 C4 Aero with sunroof delete car covered in multiple herds of dead cow breaks the $103k mark again

Yep! It is... in fact, I started my day early this morning with a warm cup of coffee and went to the garage to say good morning to my 996 baby. She was already up and ready for a drive. I said, "baby, how much are you worth?". She shook her head and replied, "You can't afford me!"

I am also curious to see if Porsche taking the 911 to a full turbo line up will change anything for us non turbo owners... We may have a growing commodity, or I have been drinking too much of the Porsche koolaid But it taste sooo good!

Only time will tell...

Apparently its worth over a million dollars. Looking at the website referred to in the ad, they "turned down" a $10milllion offer

Strange, I had a similar conversation with my 996 this morning:
Me: Baby, do you know how much you're worth to me?
996: I'm worth more than any woman that will swallow, and I'll feed you every morning
Me: Are you trustworthy?
996: I've only had two partners, I only ask that you treat me gently... but know when to take it full force
Me: I love you, my one and only child!

I don't think this is too far off. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than an NA engine. "Everything is turbo" is all about pleasing the EPA and other government bodies so I don't think it will be well received in the long run.

I'd rather have a '99 C2 over any of those.
