I will admit I am not sure on the validity of 11-20. When 1-10 are put in correct context, there is nothing inaccurate listed. I can go through them all if you like, but it won't matter what I say, because especially in this thread, truth and honestly is thrown right out the window.

Well, it's because Aerohead drove it off the rails! Look at his responses. Nothing but insults and insane, embellished claims about his car. Who is his right mind would buy anything from this jerk? Not me and not anyone I know. I wouldn't buy that car if it was the last Porsche on the planet. And as Slakker mentioned, this is a technical forum and not the kiss ***, barista filled, jelly donut eating, Starbuck serving Porsche dealership lounge. He doesn't like the heat, than get the hell outta the kitchen. *drop mic*

Not to change the topic, but always looking for the perfect 996. Found this one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=162102751017

Read through and was excited to see the IMS was replaced, then read the rest of the tech's note - that it was out of spec but decided to replace anyway.

Oh well, the search goes on

I love that users like b3freak, slakker, etc can say whatever rude, immature purely false conjecture they want. But when they get called out on it all of a sudden it is the other person who is "insulting".

Pot, meet kettle.

Aero - honestly, hope you sell your car and move on. But please give it a rest in here. Most guys just kidding around and learning more about our cars on a tech forum. or just sharing interesting stuff. This is not where the problems of the world are going to get resolved.

I wouldn't write it off completely. There is no mention of the bearing's state, just the timing. Jake has said that the timing won't show anything until the late stages of failure. I would hope that if they opened it and found the bearing trashed that it would have been noted.

I'd like to be able to either see the original bearing or assuming they sent it off to LN for warranty, see what LN says about the old bearing.

Now if they can't produce the bearing and didn't send it to LN to register it, yeah I'd be leery too.

Nice looking car though and indeed a rare combination with the red, sport seats, and a Cab Aero. The red looks good with the silver and it all looks to be in good condition too.

Tip + Aero?

Looks good for the milage, but with the Tip and the miles I don't know about the asking price. We know KC would pay an extra $5k though for the color

Those wheels look like the LM forged wheels. BBS headquarters is just down the road from me and I gave them a call about the LM wheels and they quoted me like almost a $1000 each. It states he paid $2500 for the set which sound like a pretty good deal for BBS. They are beautiful though!

Usually, I'd agree the aero package on the cabriolets look a bit "spaceshipish", but it seems to work and not stick out too much... maybe it's the silver color that makes it work. I'm not crazy about that interior color and the fact that Porsche likes to make everything in the 996 interiors the same colors. On my cab, everything was graphic grey. I had the console and seat backs painted flat black. It was amazing how two changes can make the whole interior look different.

Been bit by IMS once. Next 996 will either have it not done or done by an LN certified installer. I am going for red/silver. Best Porsche color combo

Didn't Porsche have problems with the clear coat on the Red 996 cars? Seems like I remember clear coat was prone to bubble up and flake off over time quicker than any other colors.
