Guys, just an FYI...called LA Sleeve and was told that it would cost in the neighborhood of $1900 to re-sleeve all 6 cylinders (that's labor and parts). Add to that the shipping cost to and from. Was also told that new pistons are recommended and JE Pistons has a set for under $1000 that comes with rings and correct measurements. The existing pistons are almost always warped....rods can be re-used.
One more note: the people at LA Sleeve are phenomenal. The guy I spoke with would have spent hours with me on the phone explaining the finer nuances of engine rebuilding.

I have "stjoh"'s car now and I can tell you that the motor is alive and well, it survived a 13 hour drive back home, lively weekend drives and one very spirited ralley run. The whole time the water temp never went over the 190/195 range... and mostly stayed at the 180 zone. I have never seen a spot of oil on the ground... yes I have cardboard under the car just to check for this... and the fluids are exactly on the mark every time I check them. I am super pleased with the folks at Forsche-Land ! They did a great job rebuilding my motor and would highly recommend them!
