Default My "New" 996

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to give me advice, encouraged patience and also sold me on the idea that the 996 is an excellent car. I simply could not be happier with my purchase!! My 9 year-old son and I flew to Wichita, Kansas to buy the car, and had a father/son 18.5-hour road trip back to North Carolina. What an awesome experience for both of us.

Below are a few pictures of the car after getting it home and cleaned up...

Also, I would like to especially thank the Rennlist member that I purchased this car from: OneWhippedPuppy. Although I just met him, I was pleasantly surprised that the car was *exactly* as described in his ad. There were no surprises, no, "Oops, I forgot to mention that..." and so-on. Not only was the purchase a pleasant experience, but we have kept in touch after the sale to make sure that the car is performing as expected.

I look forward to spending more time here on the forums!

Thanks, Mike! BTW--how do some of you guys have extra large avatars? If I go to "avatar" in my CP, it only allows 20kb or 200 x 200 (whichever is smaller). Your images are clearly larger than 200 x 200.

Congrats on the purchase. Two years ago my then 4yo son and I picked up our c4s in Houston. One of the best memories we have so far. Two days of motoring back to Denver. Enjoy the car in great health to make more memories.

I think maybe you get a larger avatar allowance if you become a paying member. I highly recommend joining. It's only $17.95/year, and I have received WAY more than that in terms of advice here.

In fact, I've saved more than that just by reading the "Off-Topic" forum (available only to members) and avoided movies that got crappy reviews.

Thanks for all of the kind words.

Kent--the car is a black metallic flake (car was repainted due to an accident where it received damage to the front right fender). It's a very deep black, and the paint looks wet to the touch--especially after having the car detailed and all swirls and scratches removed. The body kit is factory aero with the exception of the front end. The front end is made by GT3Tek.
