Default Back for another round

I sold my 2000 Porsche 996 about 2 years ago, and haven't been able to find a car that made me happy, since. I solved that problem a couple of weeks ago, when I bought a 2003 996.

It's midnight blue on black, with a build that's perfect for me. Full leather package, HID's, no-PSM, 6 speed, and factory 5 spokes. The car suffers from deferred maintenance, but with only 67k, it's not something that scares me.

So far, I've put a new set of Continental DW's on it, performed an oil change, and buffed out the neglected paint. Last night, I unloaded a box of parts into it. The tally, so far is new decklid and frunk struts, a new coolant reservoir cap, new air filter, new steering wheel multiswitch (turn signal auto cancel was broken), and a 997 shift assembly. There's some work left to do, but the car is coming together, nicely.

A picture from the day of purchase:

It's great to be back!

Nice. Looks like your drains are working too (behind front wheel) if that's from you.

I started riding and tracking motorcycles, and was worried that my previous 996 would just collect dust in the garage. I sold it for a good price and bought a pickup truck. After two years of suffering, I decided I'd have a lot more fun trailering my track toy to the track with another track toy.

I know there will be a ton of comments about how I should have bought a Cayenne, but I need a trailer 8-10 days per year, and I want a 911 for 365 days out of the year.

You won't hear much "buy a Cayenne" from us.
