I erase my license plate when I post pics. I have a child hood friend who is in law enforcement. If I wanted to get an address using someone's license plate, no problem. Knowing that I have this kind of access, makes me wonder how many other folks can do the same. Better safe than sorry...just sayin.
I just don't want any RennLister's to recognize me while driving too slow on the freeway, using the wrong gear, burning the wrong oil, having the wrong color side markers, using the wrong stance on my suspension setup and pulling over every 2 miles to make sure my IMS was still intact

That 's exactly why I did it! Actually I only obscured it because I see everyone else doing it and I figured there must be a reason.
To answer the other question there is sort of a small flat spot on the roll where you can put the PORSCHE. Other then that there is too much curve in the shape of the lid to do anything more then the single line emblem the car came with. The fact that the 991 style letters are a bit smaller helps as well. The parts guy I dealt with at the dealer didn't want to sell them to me, said they wouldn't work, but they haven't fallen off yet.

...if someone goes through the trouble to find my address from my license plate, I suggest they also check DoJ/ATF databases before they show up unannounced.
I considered changing my badging, but if I did anything I would probably de-badge it. Shortly after getting it my wife and daughter followed me to lunch and commented on the fact that it doesn't say Porsche anywhere on the rear of the car. (Before you guys get going, I let them ride in and drive the car, we were just going separate ways after lunch.)
My wife guessed that I would say that those to whom it matters (car enthusiasts) already know what kind of car it is and those who don't know probably wouldn't care anyway. Clearly she knows me well.
Now, you guys who have modified your badging to suit your preferences, good for you. I firmly believe in making a car my own. That's what you have done. It's all just a matter of preference, and if executed well I can appreciate most any modification, even if it is not to my taste.
