I did mine last year. (See my avatar) The trailing "A" in Carrera had broken off so I decided to re-badge. I got "911" and "Porsche" from Suncoast that are for the 991. The ones from other models are larger.

Another reason was that a second person asked me "What kind of "Camero" is that"?

I had my car detailed yesterday and when the kid came into the lounge to find me, he said my "Red Carrera was ready." Doubt he knew a Porsche from a Pinto.

Only kidding. I left the carrera as is position. Put 911 under it. Then Porsche across the bumper. NO ONE and I mean no one liked it one bit and I was severely reprimanded by many posters. Then during a slight snow fall I lost the car and did slight damage to the rear bumper. The Porsche place removed the Porsche lettering during the bumper repoair. So now it says Carrera then 911 underneath it. I think it looks neat so will leave it as is.

I did mine with 991 emblems. Between those and the Depo LED lights I've fooled a few people!

I think that the Carrera 4S script on the 996 is about as good as it gets, wouldn't work on a different car though.

Aside from the debadging and Hurdi crashing (glad hes ok); what is this obsession with obscuring your license plates? It gets seen by 100's if not 1000's of people everytime you drive. Is it top secret to forum members but not everyone else who sees your car? Your worried a few forum members are going to run your tag or what??????

RDykmans that looks nice. Did you put the PORSCHE badge on the hump? Is it on the lower part of it?

I agree - kinda find this amusing - although it seems it could make it relatively easy to get your address info. Read this short article: http://jalopnik.com/5941797/should-y...ates-in-photos

I think I'll just have to come up with a plate worth leaving unobscured!

back on topic... I like the idea of customizing the rear lettering some. The 4S is sweet!

I erase my license plate when I post pics. I have a child hood friend who is in law enforcement. If I wanted to get an address using someone's license plate, no problem. Knowing that I have this kind of access, makes me wonder how many other folks can do the same. Better safe than sorry...just sayin.

Conspiracy theorists have accused companies like Mit****bishi of taking photos of license plates at the auto-x events and scouring the forums to deny some warranty coverage on Evo's previously. Obviously most of us don't have to worry about warranty coverage issues but another reason not to post plate pics.

If your friend was caught doing that favor...he could get fired, at least here in fla.
