Default 996 rear solid subframe diy

Is there a DIY for the rear solid subframe bushings? I searched a bit and to no avail. Is it pretty self explanatory? I got the package today and there is clearly a direction they fit and 2 different types. Any help would be great!

That's not a common item to replace afaik. Just curious of the parts you're taking about. Is it in this part diagram?

Those solid bushings are really for cars that see track use only. Are you adding these to you daily?
They will transmit a lot of vibration and harshness on a road car..

GT2 and GT3 have them from factory, no downsides I can feel

Remove subframes
-you can leave drive shafts (with hubs etc) there, but it would be easier if upper control arms and track rods are removed in advance.
-also four struts/crossmembers must be removed before subframes can be dropped. No need to touch engine at all.
-there's three nuts / each subframe, remove and subframes can be dropped.

Remove rubber bushings by
1. cutting upper ends of them with an angle grinder ( or similar)
2. pull out the bushings with a puller (commercial or DIY)
3. clean parts
4. install Torque Solution's bushings
5. install parts
6. you're done.

Remember wheel alignment. Best of this can be achieved with solid bushings at control arms etc.

After it was brought to my attention that the GT2/3 comes like this I started to do some reading. Elephant has a great explanation.... Sorry if this has already been posted.

I see now. So basically it corrects the control arm angle. This link provides an even more detailed explanation http://www.meganracing.com/tech/faqs...ect=Suspension

However, my impression is this is needed only if the car is dramatically lowered that the control arms are no longer horizontal?

This car is not a daily, and certainly will see some decent track use, but it's mostly a weekend/fun car for me. I like the feel of removing rubber from the car as I have done it to a few others and enjoyed the feel of the car. Is it self explanatory where the 2 different colored and sized mounts go?

As quoted in Elephant Racings's text, deflection elimination is IMO more important. That you can definitely feel, at least at track with semislicks.
Below's a pic of my new rear control arms and the subframe with solid bushings. More of those in 996 GT3 section...

With Torque Solution's parts, flat ones ate on top, black, taller ones on the bottom.
